   Biodiesel Tax Incentive Information

The language currently being considered for the Energy Bill is encompassed in S.1548. The language is similar to what the Senate passed 84-to-14. This would provide a penny tax credit per blended percentage point, which will lower the cost to the end user. This will make biodiesel more competitive with petrodiesel giving consumers a chance to economically choose a renewable, environmental American made fuel. The Highway Trust Fund is not impacted.

Rep. Kenny Hulshof (R-MO) and other key Members of the House introduced a companion bill to S.1548. The House bill, HR 3119, will serve as a rallying point for House Members who want to show their support of biodiesel and ethanol incentives. HR 3119 replaces HR 1279 as key biodiesel tax bill in the House of Representatives.
